CGLC's Martime Gathering Resources This is a growing inventory list of maritime resources.

A list of collections, scholarly work, public programs, & education resources in the Great Lakes region by state:

Connecting Scholars, Artists, & Performers - Collecting information to create a searchable database which will help connect people in the Great Lakes region.

Connecting Resources - In order to create a searchable database, collecting information on all resources devoted to the understanding of the history, people, traditions and customs of the Great Lakes region.

CGLC Criteria for Supporting Regional Projects and Meetings - This report includes a definition of typical activities & goals of "Gatherings" and procedures for applying for technical assistance for travel or special projects.

Disaster Mitigation Planning Assistance - Provides working disaster plans for cultural institutions such as libraries, museums, historical societies and archives, which help to mitigate damage to collections in the event of a disaster.

Historical Collections of the Great Lakes - This project at Bowling Green State University collects, preserves, and makes available to scholars, students and the public, historical materials documenting the Great Lakes region and connecting waterways. Includes a Great Lakes Vessels Online Image Database and a Great Lakes Maritime Personnel Index.

Michigan Cookbook Project
A pioneering state initiative to collect all cookbooks and cookery related materials published in Michigan or produced by Michigan communities, organizations, and churches.

Great Lakes Circle Tour
A designated, scenic road system connecting all of the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River.

Michigan State University Collections Council - Michigan State University maintains a rich array of valuable collections for research, teaching, and public service.

Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor - National Park Service website that provides travel, camping, lodging, activity, facility and fee/permit information.

Preservation Audio/Visual Resource - Search for library and archival preservation related educational resources in audio/visual formats. Topics or themes one can search by include care and handling, binding, and disaster preparedness and planning.

The Urban Gateway - a resource listing major cultural events in the Central Region/Great Lakes cities.

Publications Gateway - a collection of the Central Region/Great Lakes publications coming out of University Presses .

Other NEH Humanities Centers - There are ten additional centers located across the country sponsored by the NEH.

Imagining Michigan - an important effort to unite the energies of higher education, the non-profit cultural sector, and the public for the good of the state.

Great Lakes Folk Festival - Both entertaining and educational, the festival will be a unique fusion of arts fair, music festival, county fair, hands-on workshops, and celebration of our multi-ethnic heritage.
